HOME OF THE SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH
Randy has been in the food business most of his life. Old time Fredericktonians will recall his connections to Betty's Restaurant which his family ran and then P.L. Cahoots, both on East Street. When randy left the restaurant business he set out to build a catering/ festival foods business. Highland Catering is well known throughout the Mid-Atlantic area for it's quality Irish and Scottish foods served at some of the largest Celtic Festivals. He is also a regular at events like the Gettysburg Reenactments, Frederick's Fourth of July, the Cultural Arts Festival, as well as numerous other fundraising events at schools throughout Frederick County.
Randy has also developed this Old Tyme Candy business which is ever expanding. He travels the east coast many weekends as part of the Sugarloaf Mountain craft shows. You will find him also at the Annual Maryland Christmas show at the Frederick Fairgrounds. He is an entrepreneur who specializes in the old-fashioned candies you just can't find in stores any longer. He also has fudge that folks will drive for miles to get, and he is the owner of several antique peanut roasters which you will find him working at most of his candy shows. Nothing beats fresh roasted peanuts from one of those antique machines.
Randy recently opened a regular shop within the Emmitsburg Antique Mall of route 15 in Emmitsburg and looking to expand to other venues. His dream is to ultimately open a candy and nut shop in historic downtown Frederick within the next few years.
